modular audio & information systems was a German loudspeaker manufacturer founded by graduate engineer Peter Großklaus. One main aspect of its loudspeakers was their modularity, which allowed, for example, a bookshelf speaker to be converted into a floor-standing speaker. The outer material could also be changed if necessary to adapt the speakers to a different interior design.

Even though mains received very good test results from renowned audio magazines (including the German magazine "AUDIO", 11/2004, about the L18 ST3 HE: "The perfect speaker for anyone who appreciates a high-resolution sound image. Unspectacular and honest."), it had to cease operation in 2005 after 2 years.
